Creepy House Summer Reading Challenge at Somerset Libraries

School’s Out and the Summer Reading Challenge 2013 is on!

Calling all parents and carers of four to 11 year olds – news of a free activity available through the library to help keep your children occupied during the summer holidays!

Look out for Creepy House – on the way to a library near you this summer. Dare you enter?

Sign up for free at any LibrariesWest library. Once signed up children are challenged to read six books or more over three visits to the library, collecting stickers as they progress. Information books, story books, poems, picture books, audio books – it’s up to you. As long as the books are borrowed from the library, the choice is yours.

All children who complete the Challenge by 14 September will be rewarded with a fantastic gold style medal and certificate, and will also be entered into a free prize draw for a chance to win a Kobo eReader or ‘your age in books’. Free prize draw kindly sponsored by Peters Bookselling Services. Terms and conditions apply.

Be warned – the stinky stickers are VILE!! (But the kids love them!)

Oh my two eldest are very excited about this! There are also some activities happening at most of the Bristol libraries over the summer, which are super cheap at 50p per child.

Yes Purplemum, my eldest is like that and reads anything he can get his hands on. This week it was the Argos catalogue so I think this will be a decent literary step up!!
