Portishead Youth and Community Centre offers a wide range of activities including soft play and craft sessions for tots; music and dance tuition for kids and of course a regular youth club. This month’s highlights include a Half-term fun club, Halloween activities and the opening of a new Junior Youth Club for 8 to 11 year olds.

Check out their October Newsletter for details of all their latest events.

Read why I’m so optimistic that the Bristol Metro Service including our much awaited Portishead link will be a reality by 2018! Plus a new video revealing highlights of the train journey ALMOST as far as Portishead, filmed at last week’s Community Rail Festival.

Today First Great Western is putting on a Community Rail Festival, providing a special service which will transport an exclusive group of passengers from Bristol Temple Meads to Portbury – just for one day. Whilst collecting for a number of charities on the day, the Festival also aims to promote the achievements of Community Rail Partnerships throughout the UK.

This all sounds quite encouraging for our own line. Could this indicate another step towards the Portishead railway link?

Clevedon Children’s Centre offers support and information for the community.

They host Tums to Tots, Peep 3’s, Well Baby Clinic, Childminders’ Group, Simply Play+, Baby Peep and Young Parents Group as well as a Housing Benefit Surgery.

James at Portishead Railway Mural Opening campaigning for the reopening of the Portishead to Bristol Railway

Tracking Down Portishead Railway. In this short film James & his family go on an adventure to look for the old Portishead railway. A seven year old train loving boy’s story about trying to re-establish the missing few miles of line between Bristol and the growing town of Portishead. Highly commended by Portishead Railway Group.
