Founded 19 years ago, 2nd Portishead is a thriving Scout Group which has grown to include 7 sections. – 3 Beaver sections, 2 Cub sections and 2 Scout troops. Being a part of this active organisation is tremendous fun and it encourages youngsters to develop in many ways.
Their waiting list is so long that they would like to open another Cub Scout Pack and offer this opportunity to more boys and girls and this is where you, my fabulous community spirited readers come in . . . .
The group is run by a team of dedicated volunteers and they really need YOUR help! Could you offer perhaps 2 hours a week to help out as a Leader or an Assistant? You don’t need to have experience and any necessary training will be given. You don’t even need to commit to helping out every week – it could be on a job share basis.
If you would prefer an administrative role, they also need a Chairman and a temporary Treasurer.
If you volunteer for any of these roles and have children of a qualifying age, they can be offered a place one of the sections straight away.
