Everyone knows that all parents want healthy, fit and happy children. The problem though can be finding an activity that helps them become fitter and healthier whist learning skills and most importantly having fun.
Lots of children love to dance, and as parents we want to encourage them. The problem though can be finding dance classes for young children that are relaxed, full of fun and all inclusive, regardless of ability.
North Bristol based mum of 3 Claire Wingate, inspired by her eldest daughter, has discovered a way of doing all of this through the UK’s leading pre-school dance academy, babyballet®. With 4 different levels of syllabus developed around children’s developmental stages and an ethos is to make every child feel special babyballet® encourages all children to be the best that they can in a warm, caring environment.
In September 2014, Claire launched her franchise, babyballet® Bradley Stoke and her classes quickly grew. Today Claire teaches ballet to over 100 children each week aged between 6 months and 6 years. Dancing to catchy tunes with instruments, a variety of props and not forgetting Twinkle and Teddy the babyballet® bears children have a magical time in their babyballet® classes.
Following on from a hugely successful first 7 months in business, Claire is now ready for expansion and is launching Babyballet Portishead.
Claire, who trained in ballet herself at the Westbury School of Dance, says of the expansion:
“I have always loved ballet, but have seen so many friends children being put off by discipline, exams or even because they have the wrong body shape or co-ordination that is not perfect. When she was younger, my eldest daughter Megan, like all 3 year olds, loved ballet. The only thing stopping her was that she had been diagnosed with Hemiplegia, a type of mild Cerebral Palsy, a year earlier and so found normal ballet classes difficult”.
“She’s now 13 and having taught her ballet at home is still singing and dancing. I do wish though that I had come across babyballet® when she was young enough to attend, she’d have loved it”.
babyballet® Portishead – for boys and girls from six months to six years – launches in March with classes at The Play Port (Fridays) and Avonway Hall (Wednesdays).
A launch party at The Play Port on Friday 6th March where children can enjoy meeting babyballet’s® character Flutterby Fairy and can enjoy taster sessions at 1030 and 1330.
