Losing Sleep

Disturbed Sleep!

This morning Mummy is feeling a tad tired. Sometime in the early hours I remember hearing the familiar patter of feet heading towards the marital bed and through the haze of sleep, my daytime resolve to be firmer and return nocturnal wanderers to bed, turns to mush. As my three year old approaches I open my arms and he climbs in next to me, rewarding me with the most loving of cuddles (his arms slide around my neck and he presses his head firmly against mine) and another restless night. He, of course, sleeps like a baby. As he wakes up a sunny (Could I be confusing that with smug?!) smile lights up his face and I love him just a little bit more.

After eight years of having children you would think I might have developed a strategy for ensuring a good night’s sleep. Maybe I’m just too soft?

I’m sure this phase will pass as it did with my other children, but for now I’ll just make the most of the extra cuddles.
