Tutu Ready for Red Nose Day Danceathon

Red Nose Day Danceathon 2015

There’s no going back now. I’ve signed up for the Red Nose Day Danceathon which means I’m committed to dancing for six hours along with the awesome fundraising blogging team known as ‘Team Honk’, a couple of thousand other dancers, the legend we know as Claudia Winkelman and a host of other celebrities.

I’d love you to watch the little vlog I made today all about it.

By “doing something funny for money” we’re hoping to change lives around the world for Red Nose Day on Sunday March the 8th. To date our 2015 team honk total is over £17,000.

I’m going to dance for six hours, which sounds fun, but actually it would take me less time to jog a marathon. I’ll be going for the high impact version of the dance routines which will change every half hour, with a new teacher taking the helm, at Wembley stadium.

Oh and just to put this into perspective, I’ve done no training (apart from half an hour playing Kinect Sport on the Xbox with the boys – that counts right?), I have dodgy knees and I can’t dance.

On the plus side, I’ve sorted out what I’m sure you’ll agree is a very practical outfit and there’s been one significant change since last year’s Team Honk relay. Due to the power of social media and to the envy of my dancing friends I’ve managed to procure a HOT RED TUTU which will replace last year’s big red pants and is clearly going to turn me into a dancing diva!

Comic Relief money makes an incredible difference around the world, and in the UK, you are never more than 30 miles from a Comic Relief funded project. Whatever you can spare would be warmly welcomed and will make a real difference to people living unimaginably tough lives around the world. Donating is easy and you can even use paypal.

£150 = bicycle ambulance to help pregnant women in rural Malawi reach life-saving health service
£50 could pay for a girl, in a Kenyan slum, to do an apprenticeship + gain vital, life-changing skills and knowledge
£30 could pay for 6 young people in the UK with a disability to take part in sport.
£20 = school uniforms for 2 street children in Ghana, so they can get the education they need
£25 = a sport session for disadvantaged UK young people, keeping them safe & off the streets
£30 = 15 elderly people, living with dementia in the UK attending a weekly support session
£15 = 6 mosquito nets, to protect 6 children in Uganda from contracting life-threatening malaria

But any amount can change someone’s world…. Please can you spare a minute to sponsor me?
