Fox Cycling opens First Cycling Studio at Kestrel Court

Fox Cycling Ltd opens its first cycling studio 1/6/13

Whether you’re new to indoor cycling or a seasoned cyclist, we promise you a warm welcome, an exhilarating experience and an effective cardio workout helping you feel great, burn calories and develop your fitness. Fox Studio Cycling has a dedicated and passionate team of qualified indoor cycling experts who will welcome you to the world of indoor cycling and help you take your studio cycling to the next level. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done it before; we have classes especially for you, we don’t assume any prior knowledge or level of fitness, we’ll take things at your pace. If you want to get fit, burn calories and tone up, but don’t know where to start, then we want to help you. At 9am Monday-Saturday we have classes suitable for mothers who are keen to start getting fit (or regaining their fitness after having a baby).

Fox Cycling Unlike a gym, there is no joining fee, no membership, you just pay when YOU want to ride. Have a look at the online timetable and you can book instantly – with no need to queue!

If you’re following a diet or calorie counting, by studio cycling you’ll be able to tell exactly how many calories you’ve burnt because our bikes are computerised, and record not only the calories you’ve burned, but also the distance you would have cycled (had your bike not been a static one!) and your wattage. The important thing to remember is that you go at your own pace. We will help you challenge yourself, but we will never push you further than you want to go.

Once you get hooked on studio cycling (shouldn’t take long!) you may want to invest in a Suunto chest strap (available in our online shop) this records your heart rate and personal stats, and at the end of the session, these will be emailed directly to you.

Fox Cycling

If childcare is an issue, if you’re feeling a bit self-conscious, or if you’re just having a bad hair day – you can join us from home if you have a smartphone, tablet or PC and a suitable static bike (either exercise bike, static bike or turbo-trainer) because all our classes are streamed live. Instead of booking a session in the studio, click on ‘Studio Cycling Online’ on our homepage, and you’ll be able to book a session and join us from where you are. We’ll even provide the first session for free to ensure your technology and broadband is compatible with ours.

Fox Cycling can help you get the ‘you’ you want; we can help you get fitter, build your confidence, and meet new people, whilst also having a ridiculous amount of fun on a bike! Come on, we’d love to see you there!

    Hello Alison and Julie,

For information about the classes you just need to click on ‘more information’ on the studio cycling part of the home page, we’ve got a lot of details there!

There are 5 categories; 1 is the lowest and 5 is the highest. Cat 1 is really quite leisurely and geared for getting people used to exercise – from the people we’ve talked to we realise now that there is more demand for this type of class than we thought, so we will be scheduling more classes in this category. We’re particularly keen on helping mums get back in their bikinis(!) and so not only do we have special classes for this purpose, but also if there is a group of you who want to exercise together, we can tailor a class to suit you – you get your instructor, class type and even the music tailored to your requirements!

You can pay for classes singly, or you can buy bundles of 5, 10 or 20 ride credits. Obviously the larger the bundle, the bigger the discount. For class (these are generally 1 hour long) a single credit would be £7.50, buying a bundle decreases this to £7. Most gyms only offer 45 minute classes because they like a high turnover of people, but the feedback we got was people want that little bit longer. At Parish Wharf, for example you’d pay £5.45 for 45 mins, that works out at £7.27 for an hour.

However, we have the latest top of the range bikes, they’re computerised and with gears so you can see how well you’re doing, we have disco lights, fog machine, the all-essential bubble machine (don’t ask me why it is, but it is!) and should you wish it we have the technology to email your stats to you before you even get home!

It would be great to see you both there. Thanks for posting comments!

Hi, what do the categories mean? Is cat 1 easy or hard?! Also how much is a class? Sorry if I’m missing the obvious but I just couldn’t see that info! Thanks.

      Hello Julie
I’ve passed your message on to Steven but he’s obviously been very busy preparing for the launch. You can contact him direct here http://www.foxcycling.co.uk/contact/
Thanks for your question. It’s helpful to know that’s not obvious.
